ULTRAVIOLET

GERMICIDAL

IRRADIATION (UV-C)

UV-C has a long and honorable history in sterilization. Hundreds of scientific studies over the past century have proven the disinfectant efficacy of UV-C energy in eliminating viruses and other microbes on surfaces, in water, and in the air.

UV-C SANITIZING & DISINFECTION

UV-C LED Technologies

Sustained and regular sanitization and disinfection are becoming the norm today within city infrastructures, and in residential and commercial applications in the post Covid-19 world. The efficiency of UV LED technology in this regard is gradually catching up with the market and demand for its applications is growing fast.

A Glance at UV Radiation

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation is optical radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light and is present in sunlight. It can be divided into three functional categories: UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C.

UV-C Disinfection

Germicidal UV disinfection uses energy from shorter wavelength UV radiation to kill bacteria, fungi, mold spores, and to inactivate viruses. UV-C radiation is much more effective for sanitizing applications than UV-B and UV-A.

UV-C destroys the DNA and RNA molecular structures of microorganisms, making them unable to reproduce and multiply. This means it is effective in inactivating bacteria, fungi, mold spores and viruses. UV-C radiation has been used in healthcare settings to disinfect bacteria and other pathogens for decades. It has been proven to inhibit 99.9% of SARS-Coronavirus particles. This greatly reduce the risk of airborne transmission of viruses.
